What is the mission and vision of FYN?
Our mission is to enrich the personal and professional lives of women. In order to succeed in today’s competitive market we must continue to enhance our careers by improving our professional and business proficiencies. The For You Network is dedicated to help women enhance their professional careers by providing access to business training and other educational resources necessary to succeed. The vision: Encourage all women to achieve their personal and professional goals.The Executive Success Team (EST ) works with the Board of Directors (BOD) to follow this mission and execute it.

How is FYN governed?
The organization is governed by the Executive Success Team (EST) with whom the responsibility of leading the organization resides. Representation on the EST Board is limited to the active and duly registered founding members of the organization.

Is there a term limit for EST members?
All active EST members serve unlimited terms and are removed only by resignation or nonperformance of duties as outlined in the organizations Bylaws.

What are the respective role(s) of the Executive Success Team?
EST is responsible for setting and enforcing the policies of FYN within the guidelines of the Bylaws, organizational corporate documents, State and Federal law, and the vision and mission of the organization. It is the governing body of FYN that has a legal and fiduciary responsibility and is legally accountable for their actions. EST oversees the general operations of FYN, the Board of Directors, financials, disbursements, contracts, etc. and ensure that the vision and goals of FYN are upheld and fostered. EST is the keeper of the By-laws and recommend revisions as needed. EST works with, and helps guide the Board of Directors to promote the well being and success of the FYN.

What is the role the Board of Director?
The Board of Directors provide feedback to EST, make recommendations as to benefits and growth. Any member of the Board of Directors not promoting and representing the best interests of FYN is subject to removal by EST. About our Directors...

Is FYN financially stable?
FYN is stable and in compliance with all State and Federal regulations governing corporations.

Does FYN have a scholarship or mentorship fund?
FYN’s has a scholarship (or mentorship) fund. All Local Connection contribute at least 10 of 12 months to this fund. The funds must be available when scholarship (mentorship) monies are paid. The For You Network awards two $500 Scholarships per year, distributed at the decision of EST.

What safeguards are in place for protecting FYN funds?
Two check signers are always required on all FYN checks, whether at the local or corporate level. One time expenditures greater than $200 at the Local Connection level must be pre-approved by an EST member.

Are FYN Board of Directors meetings open to the public?
[From the FYN bylaws] "All meetings of the Board of Directors shall be open to and may be attended by the general members except when issues related to violation of ethics, professional conduct, personnel or a lawsuit involving the Local Connections. Membership on the Board of Directors is limited to Directors of the Local Connections only. Each duly member has one vote.

What happens when a disagreement about the general direction occurs?
The EST members hear those opinions, consider them carefully and make the final decision on how FYN will proceed. The final decision is ruled, by how the interest of the organization is best served. As in all businesses, once a decision is made, everyone alike is expected to uphold that decision.

What information is available regarding the finances and business of FYN?
According to the Bylaws, FYN’s books and records are open to membership upon written request and within a 30-day time period of said written request. At each quarterly meeting, every attempt is made to present the most recent FYN financials by the FYN Financial Officer.

What is the "You Gotta Have A Heart" awards?
The YGHAH award is an annual event that provides an opportunity for the FYN members to celebrate all members. FYN sponsors this event. Nominations are accepted from November until January and awardees are selected through an outside organization to minimize favoritism. What is the "Holiday Extravaganza or Mixer"?
The Holiday Extravaganza or Mixer is a sponsored event bringing members as well as non-members from all network locations together to network and celebrate. Product donations are collected at this event and distributed to the community.

Does For You Network hold other events?
The For You Network may hold or cancel events throughout the year. Each Local Connection may hold its own fundraiser, community awareness or community support event, representing the FYN within that community.

What does the California Corporations Code have to do with how FYN is governed?
All corporations, for profit and not for profit, must comply with the California Corporations Code. This Code provides guidance for corporations to comply with the laws of the State of California. For example , section 6333, states "the accounting books and records and minutes of proceedings of the members and the Board and committees of the Board shall be open to inspection upon the written demand on the corporation of any member at any reasonable time, for a purpose reasonably related to such person’s interest as a member." Section 6334 states "Every director shall have the absolute right at any reasonable time to inspect and copy all books, records and documents of every kind and to inspect the physical properties of the corporation to which such person is a director." "Directors" means members of the Board of Directors.
